This started as landscape work. Adan's father was doing it in this valley long before there was a company name on anything, and the family has been in the trade here far longer than the LLC has existed. Willamette Landscaping & Tree Services was registered as an Oregon limited liability company in 2020, and the family still runs it.

Tree work came out of the landscaping rather than the other way round. If you look after people's yards for long enough, sooner or later somebody asks about the fir over the garage, and then about the walnut leaning at the neighbour, and then about a stump nobody else would grind. We took those jobs on, bought the equipment to do them properly, and they became the main thing.

That order is the reason we can put a property back together after we have taken something out of it. A lot of tree companies leave once the wood is on the trailer. We can carry straight on into the beds, the bark, the seed, the fence line and the rest of it, with the same crew, because that was the original business and it still is half of what we do.

The crew is in house. Nothing is subcontracted out for the day, so the person who walked your property and quoted the job is on it when it happens, and an answer given at the estimate is the same answer on the day. We work on residential and commercial property, and most jobs run one to two days from the first cut to the last rake.

Adan Solis Medina

Adan is the point of contact and the person most customers deal with. He takes the calls, runs the estimates and is on the job. He is the one our reviews keep naming, usually for the same two things, answering questions properly and keeping people informed while the work is going on.

His father is still involved and still sets every quote, which is the part of the arrangement that has not changed since the beginning. Between them they walk the estimates, and both of them are usually at the ones that matter.

What Adan says on an estimate is worth repeating here, because it is the whole company in four sentences. We are not just here to cut it down. We take the time to understand what you need, explain how we are going to do it safely, and cut the tree into sections instead of just dropping it. We are honest about what needs to be done and we want to leave your property better than we found it.

What we bring to a job

  • A bucket truck, for working a spar we would rather not climb
  • A tracked stump grinder, narrow enough for most side gates and kind to a lawn
  • A chipper, so brush goes through it as it comes off the tree
  • A dump trailer, because the haul away is planned before the cuts are
  • Commercial mowers, walk behind and stand on, for the maintenance side
  • A pickup carrying the saws, the rigging and the ropes
