Because we are based here, Albany is the town where we can be most flexible. A short drive means we take on work here that would not make sense an hour out, and it means we can often stop in and look at something on the way back from another job rather than making a separate trip of it. The work splits fairly clearly across the town. In the older streets it is mature broadleaf close to buildings, deadwood out of big crowns, and removals that have to be sectioned down because there is nowhere to drop anything. Out in the newer subdivisions on the edges it is younger planting, lawns, beds and fence lines, which is the other half of what we do. Along the river bottoms the ground is softer and the cottonwood and ash growing there put down shallower roots than the same species would elsewhere, which is worth knowing if you have a big one leaning your way.
